Sangha Norwegian Forest Cats is a cottage style, specialized cattery located part time in Southern California and part time in Northern Nevada. Our cats have free run of the house where they enjoy dozens of toys, treats, ocean/lake views and breezes. We have been breeding and showing since 1991, with our main focus on preserving the breed: their health, personality and quality.

We specialize in pure white, as they are the cats of Norse Mythology and known as "Snowcats". The Goddess Freya's chariot was pulled by two Forest Cats; one white and one black. We put a lot of work and thought into the pedigrees and breeding of these amazingly beautiful cats! Thankfully, even though they are white, they are very easy to care for (they originated in the forests of Norway, where there isn't shampoo or a comb!).

Our kittens are available between 12-16 weeks old. By this age, spending time with people, adult cats and their mother, they are friendly, fearless, well acclimated, playful, eating well, using the litter box, and have had their vaccinations.

Running a home business, we spend time, 24/7, with the kittens, so they are fully socialized and integrated into human's daily lives. They are used to noises such as hair dryers and vacums. They love music, and we play bird sounds for them during the day, and chirping crickets at night. We hold and kiss them as much as possible and have all our friends and their children over to play with them, so they are used to strangers.

A sales agreement will be required for their happiness and protection. Kittens you receive from us must be spayed or neutered before one year of age. They must be kept indoors, and must not be de-clawed. With "Wegies" this is usually never a problem, as they are very polite, dignified and well-behaved cats. Since they are very strong climbers they will need a climbing tree and tall scratching post to keep healthy and happy.

We occasionally have older kittens and adults available. Because we are a show cattery, we keep promising youngsters from 3 - 6 months to see how they mature and if they have the personality to become a show cat.We train every kitten as if he/she were going into the show ring. This means lots of handling, grooming, love and baths! It is very important to us to show these cats. Not only is it a fun hobby, but how else would we get an impartial view as to their health, personality and quality?  We know they are beautiful...and it's always nice to know that others do as well!
